Two performances and an art market. Expect art to satisfy your eyes, to food to meet your mouth, to massages to relax your body, to alcohol to loosen up.

Broken Hearts is a duo of performance-based events, bringing tenderness, love, care, and different ways to contemplate sorrow, process anger, or simply forget for a moment.
Across two days, four performances unfold, each approaching heartbreak from a different angle. Alongside this, a market gathers local small businesses offering things that can accompany your state. From art to satisfy your eyes, to food to meet your mouth, to massages to relax your body, to alcohol to loosen up.
The project is put together with care by Kapish, and held within the arms of Roodkapje West.
A freely accessible event, where you can stay between performances, have a coffee, move through the market, or take distance when needed. A seemingly casual setting, shaped by the work and trust of the artists, the team, and the space.
Be ready to cry, laugh, or simply stay.

Crawling down the throat
Breath, skin, and voice slip out of meaning. A visceral landscape where the body distorts, resonates, and leaks beyond itself.

Impossible Love Songs
Songs that shouldn’t exist, made on the spot. Moving between softness and intensity, intimacy and expansion, with the audience close by.

CONTEXT
Broken Hearts aims to move with and beyond the first associations of romantic heartbreak, and to open towards a broader spectrum of experiences of hurt.
These can come from intimate relationships, but also from political disappointment, current events, or collective disillusionment. The project does not try to compare or rank these experiences, but rather to acknowledge different intensities, tones, and perspectives.
The performances engage with resilience, care, protest, and other responses to hurt. They move through different registers, including humor, self-pity, tenderness, anger, or political expression.
There is space for lightness around serious topics, and seriousness towards experiences often considered shallow.
Being aware of the situations many people are currently facing, Kapish continues to exist to support vulnerable voices and to create space for artistic and activist expression.
This event is shaped by ideas of community care, mutual support, and multiplicity. It is made for those who want to express and communicate, and also for those who need to withdraw, observe, or rest within a shared space.
